I haven’t been on here for a while out of pure laziness if I’m honest but thought I’d start posting more (well the intention is there)
Due to the mini ‘heatwave’ we had here towards the end of last week it got me feeling all summery and thinking of my amazing holiday last year so though I’d compose a post about it ☺️
This time last year I was looking forward to going to the Gran Melia Palacio de Isora in Tenerife. My friend Emma who is the absolute queen of holidays (and found this perfect hotel) booked it all as I’m a bit of a newbie when it comes to flights/hotels etc and it.was.amazing!
As soon as we arrived in reception we were greeted by staff and handed refreshing iced tea which was the perfect beverage in the heat and such a nice touch. The reception area was incredible and I was already blown away by a beautiful centre feature (below)
Our suitcases were whisked away and taken up to our rooms and we were free to have a wonder round and take all the luxury in, as we walked down the stairs there was a huge courtyard with a Pandora shop to the left, a piano bar, teppinyaki restaurant, buffet restaurant and Italian restaurant (the resort has five international gourmet restaurants and six bars and lounges)
The room was beautiful with a balcony overlooking the garden and an ensuite complete with a huge bath (those of you who know me know I LOVE my baths) shower toilet and twin sinks.
The breakfast buffet had everything you could think of with a beautiful, tranquil view to match. (Pretty safe to say our diets had catapulted out the window)
After a morning of sunbathing and swimming we would have our lunch at one of the restaurants by the pool.
I had my first teppanyaki experience here, it was incredible and will definitely not be my last! The chef was very entertaining, the food was outstanding and the restaurant was beautiful!
We dined at the Italian restaurant twice as we’re both huge Italian food fans. The restaurant was all glass and strategically placed next to the cocktail bar.
This was where we spent most of our time trying to get as tanned as possible when we were too hot the salt pool was a welcome break from the sun and was absolutely stunning.
It was one of my favourite holidays the only bad point was one evening we returned to our room and there was something that resembled a flying cockroach on our wall (I don’t know if cockroaches can fly and I don’t want to know) but with a (very) swift call down to reception within 5 minutes 2 members of staff/life savers were removing whatever it was and were extremely apologetic. I would highly recommend visiting and will definitely be returning to this luxurious paradise (hopefully soon) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
